The
GRI.ME.CA company was established in 1950 in Bologna, where
it started production of bicycle and motorcycle components.
At the end of the sixties the company became a leader in
its sector and expanded its production units by extending
across Italy: first opening in Recanati (Macerata) as a
support unit for accessory machining, and then in Ceregnano
(Rovigo) to meet growing customer demands in terms of volumes,
technology and quality.

From
1970 BASSANO - GRIMECA started to invest in the construction
of laboratories for the development and application of new
technological and design concepts, while also directing
other funds to the corporate training of specialized technical
staff.
These policies have led to concrete collaboration with the
faculties of Padua University, and continuous success in
this sector have earned the company the title of "Technological
pole", recognized in the EEC sphere and by the Ministry
for Scientific Research.
At the beginning of the nineties, a new investment policy
permitted the takeover of the "Canavese" company
in Crema (Cremona), where the construction of machine tools
and automations for specific requirements is carried out.
In 1996 the Company submitted to the Accredited Unit D.N.V.
- Det Norske Veritas - the organization of its Quality System
that, examined according to the new ISO 9000 rules, attained
the certification.
Thanks to this passport and to the boosted production potential
resulting from the uninterrupted extension of the factories,
Bassano Grimeca increased the presence of its range in the
foreign markets, by gaining leading customers, particularity
in the Far East, and succeeding in this way to globalize
the turnover and to sand out all around the world.
On the threshold of 2000, the long years of reliable experience
in the manufacturing of special "castings", components
in light alloy of pressure diecast aluminum and magnesium,
wheels, master-cylinders, hubs, brake discs, braking systems
for moped, motorbike, motorcycle and scooter had converged
in the sophisticated field of the bicycle, both for road
and mountain bike, introducing a range of cast wheels -
also tubeless - and hydraulic, mechanic and hydro-mechanic
brake calipers. A complete revolution for this field that
had long been waiting for that event.
From the first success in the aftermarket, Grimeca quickly
starts the direct supplies to the main European, Asian and
American manufacturers of bicycles that choose the new products
for the OEM lines of their vehicles.
Aware of the gained success, the engineers of Grimeca involved
in the research and development, despite any victory, push
their work of study, design and improvement for providing
successful new products.
